Chad Simpson of Monmouth, Ill., will sign copies of his award-winning short story collection, “Tell Everyone I Said Hi,” from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Books-a-Million, 4000 E. 53rd St., Davenport.

Simpson is an associate professor of English at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill.

He received the Philip Green Wright/Lombard College Prize for Distinguished Teaching in 2010.

He also is the author of a chapbook of short fiction, “Phantoms,” published by Origami Zoo Press in 2010.

“Tell Everyone I Said Hi” won the 2012 John Simmons Short Fiction Award, selected by the novelist Jim Shepard, and was published in October 2012 by the University of Iowa Press.
