Rock Island Police Chief Jeffrey R. VenHuizen has announced the promotion of Jason M. Foy to deputy chief.

Foy previously served as the lieutenant in charge of the administrative and technical services division.

Foy has been a member of the Rock Island Police Department since 1990. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy and the School of Police Staff and Command at Northwestern University.

He was promoted to detective in 2001, and to sergeant in 2002. He became a lieutenant in 2009, serving as commander of the Administrative Technical Services Bureau.
