Matt Stinocher and Patrick Mesick have been hired as police officers in Bettendorf.

Stinocher did his college internship with Bettendorf in 2005 and graduated from St. Ambrose University in 2006 with a bachelor of arts degree in criminal justice. In 2007, he joined the U.S. Army, serving as a combat medic in the Middle East. He also has been a correctional officer at the Iowa Department of Corrections in Newton. He is currently in the Iowa National Guard and most recently worked as a logistics specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal.

Mesick is a graduate of Bettendorf High School and was a Bettendorf police explorer and police intern. He attends Iowa State University and is a semester away from graduating.

Both are attending the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston and will be assigned to patrol when they return to the department.
