East Moline Mayor Reggie Freeman has been elected to serve a one-year term as vice president of the board of directors of the Illinois Municipal League.
“Being an active participant on the IML board will allow me to collaborate with other elected officials from around the state on the issues that impact all our communities,” Freeman said. “I am enthusiastic to exchange ideas and brainstorm solutions as we advocate for local government at the state and federal level.”
Freeman was elected to a four-year term as mayor in April. He had served as regional manager for Secretary of State Driver Services, overseeing eight driver facilities.
He retired from the city of East Moline with 32 years of service, working his way through the ranks, serving his last four years as police chief. He also serves on the executive board of the TaxSlayer Center.
