A good Friday to all. Overnight rain and milder temps have perked up vegetation in the Q-C area ever so slightly. If you look hard enough, you will see that some lawns are beginning to green up. But before we break out the mowers, we'll have to endure a few more days of chilly weather.

Here's the latest forecast from the National Weather Service.

This morning we'll see areas of dense fog spreading across Eastern Iowa early with visibilities at or below one-quarter of a mile. A slight chance of showers will persist into the late morning with a high temperature in the lower 40s.

It will be windy with a west wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the afternoon and producing gusts as high as 40 mph.

Tonight will continue to be mostly cloudy and blustery then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 29 degrees. Northwest winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

Saturday will be sunny with a high near 53 and a low around 35.

Sunday will be partly sunny with a high near 59 and a low around 38.

Enjoy your weather.
