The Davenport Volunteer Connection, in partnership with Hooah! Quad-Cities, Genesis Health System and local AmeriCorps members, will host a career development workshop for military veterans in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

“What’s My Mission Now?” will feature an expert panel on topics including transitioning from military to civilian life, educational resources, building a “civilianized” resume and interviewing skills. Veterans will also have the opportunity to have their résumé reviewed by a professional in the human resources field.

“What’s My Mission Now?” will take place from 2:30-5 p.m. Monday at the Genesis East Adler Health Education Center at 1236 E. Rusholme St., Davenport. Families are welcome, with childcare provided by  AmeriCorps members.

The Davenport Volunteer Connection is a city initiative to promote volunteerism. In addition to matching volunteers with service opportunities in the community, the program celebrates four national days of service each year.
