Despite the election of Donald Trump, a majority of voters adjudged that he was inexperienced and/or temperamentally and intellectually unfit to serve in our highest office. Four months into his administration, that judgement has been proven terribly correct as he repeatedly demonstrates a total lack of fitness for office. Words fail to describe his narcissism, childish lying, and bizarre, possibly unconstitutional behavior. He can be neither trusted nor believed and in too many ways has brought discredit to the office he now occupies.
Sadly, White House staff and the GOP Congress seem unwilling or unable to influence Trump’s track. Neither show the “right stuff” to push back, tell him when he is wrong and work toward orderly paths to our country’s advantage. Foremost among these is Vice President Pence who, assuming the role of a background bobblehead, nods his head in agreement as the President bloviates about his newest asinine thought or action. Only recently have some in the party of Trump started to speak out opposing one or another bamboozlement instigated by the president. Meanwhile, Donald blunders along, clueless about acceptably performing the weighty responsibilities of the office he occupies.
Tjis voter’s conclusion? Plan now for the 2018 election cycle to bring honorable, intelligent individuals into office. This is the time to come to the aid of your country, learn, work and vote to replace those who would continue to tarnish it while strongly supporting those who would regain leadership sanity and right our ship of state.
