By far, this has been the worst election that I have lived through. I don't care what party you vote for, the barrage of emails, television ads, radio ads and telephone calls is beyond belief. If there were a way to forward all of these invasions of my privacy to the United States Supreme Court, I would.

At the crux of the matter is that if you vote a party line, no amount of these invasions will change your mind anyway. If you don't know who to vote for, you still would not be able to decide after all of the misleading and sometimes vile information spread about the candidates. The U.S. Supreme Court has stuck it to the donors that contribute to these ads whether it’s through a political action committee or through the party committee that supports the candidates. My mute button and caller ID come in mighty handy in trying to ignore this invasion.

A process to overturn the Citizens United ruling to help our country's election process started in September and was shut down in the Senate by 54 Republicans. Write to Sen. Charles Grassley, 135 Hart Senate Office Building, Washington, D.C. 20510, or go to his website at www.senate.gov, select Iowa and then his page to ask him to help to put a leash on this situation. Quad-City Times, you should be reporting more on this!
