I wonder why the legislators and Department of Transportation have listened to the minority who have complained that the traffic cameras are used only as a source of income for the city. I think those who have complained are probably the ones who have had to pay fines after being caught by the cameras.

The police have proof that the cameras have made problem intersections safer. The fines are necessary as a consequence, or the cameras would not change drivers' bad habits. So what if drivers pick up speed between the cameras? At least the cameras are preventing some poor decisions at dangerous intersections.

The income from the fines is just a positive consequence of the actions of the minority who want to speed or run red lights. If you don't want to pay the fine, stop making poor decisions.
