A second Dickey's Barbecue Pit restaurant will open in early May in the Quad-Cities.
The new store will be located in the former Lolita's Mexican restaurant in the 3400 block of Avenue of the Cities in Moline, according to Bill Jensen.
He and his wife, Staci, will operate the new store.
The first Quad-City store in the Texas-based national chain opened 2½ years ago at 4706 Utica Ridge Road in Davenport.
It was owned and operated by Bruce Norden of Bettendorf , who now has three business partners, the Jensens and Chris Banks.
Banks will continue to operate the Davenport site.
"We hope to open the first week of May. We will completely redo the outside of the building." Jensen said.
He said Dickey's is the "fastest-growing barbecue chain in the world."
"There are 142 stores nationwide and 60 more coming this year," he added.
The original Dickey's opened in Dallas in 1941.
The restaurants offer a variety of meat dishes and sandwiches, including sweet pork ribs, Southern pulled pork, polish sausage, barbecue brisket, smoked turkey and chicken and side dishes.
Jensen said the hiring process for the Moline store should begin in a month.
