When a rock and roll legend turns 90, he marks the day.

So Chuck Berry announced Tuesday - on his birthday - he would release his first album in nearly 40 years sometime next year.

There's no track list yet for "Chuck" but representatives say it will be mostly original material.

Berry's son, Charles Berry Jr., said the songs will “cover the spectrum from hard-driving rockers to soulful, thought-provoking time capsules of a life’s work.”

Recorded in various studios around St. Louis, the album features the legend with his longtime band, dubbed the Blueberry Hill Band. Chuck Berry was the album's sole producer.
