Don't go to Target stores or the website looking for your creepy clown mask.

A Target spokesperson said Monday the retailer had decided to pull some of the masks from its inventory amid reports of clown threats nationwide.

Spokesman Joshua Thomas said the decision was made "given the current environment."

In recent months, reports of people wearing creepy clown masks have caused problems for more than 20 states across the country. In some states, schools have closed while officials investigated threats of violence from masked clowns on social media.
