After J.J. Condon announced he was running for alderman at-large, I remembered a conversation we had years ago after I moved out of state. J.J. was visiting and I asked what he thought. He said it was ‘neat,’ but he wouldn’t look elsewhere for a great place to live; he wanted to appreciate the benefits of living in the Quad-Cities and capitalize on the opportunities our hometown offered.
This was a pretty remarkable statement to make while sitting on a San Diego, California beach. Looking back, I find it even more profound considering J.J. was only in his mid-20s at the time. But that is exactly who J.J. is.
J.J. Condon is always talking about what makes the Quad-Cities great. He seemingly knows about every event and local shop in town. J.J. cherishes the Quad-Cities' lesser known treasures, endorsing them at every opportunity.
As a longtime Davenport resident, J.J. recently established his home downtown and has campaigned on revitalization of its surrounding neighborhoods. Yet as a home builder and realtor, J.J. is interested in promoting policies that will benefit all Davenport residents and neighbors.
For 15 years, J.J. Condon has been campaigning for Davenport as a great place to live, work, and play, not as a political candidate, just as local resident who cannot contain his passion for his community. Electing J.J. Condon will promote Davenport’s biggest champion to be able to share his mantra with all Davenport residents, “Embrace where you are. Enjoy the people around you. Enhance what you can.”
