Our Mississippi Valley Fair is one of the most popular events, if not the most popular here in the Quad-Cities. The weeklong event never fails to bring thousands of people from the community together to play games, look at the animals or watch the nightly concerts.
The concerts themselves can bring out 10,000 to 30,000 people, but since a new generation is coming in, I feel that the acts that perform at these concerts needs an update. The younger generation is not into the country rock of Lynyrd Skynyrd or John Mellencamp, but more the rap and soul singing of Kendrick Lamar and Khalid. Bringing artists similar to these two acts would get more people to start coming if they did not go and to make the young high school or college kids enjoy the shows a little more than those now featured.
