Our reality is that we live in a gun culture, and up to a certain point that was a great thing. But not after years of letting the gun lobby dictate policy. The frequent killings of 90 a day will not stop, because simply put, we are awash in guns.

And more importantly now, three million to five million of them look like assault rifles, which by the way, may plant who knows what, in some people’s minds. Only by making a change in our very cultural thinking can we hope to stop what's happening now, and that's a generational thing that won't happen for, well, generations.

Until then, we've actually reached the place where people now have to worry, if on any given day, whenever they go out in public, if they will become the targets in a shooting gallery.
