We have heard much lately about a budget crisis is Iowa. The truth of the matter is that there was never a budget crisis. After months of panic, the real truth is that there is no deficit and no need for a special legislative session to address it.
Gov. Kim Reynolds, R-Iowa, has provided exceptional leadership regarding Iowa’s budget. She closely monitored state operations and budget on a daily basis. Iowa’s fiscal house is in order; it is balanced and continues to cover all expenses. Under Gov. Reynolds’ leadership, this stability has occurred without raising taxes or cutting additional spending.
It is because of Gov. Reynolds’ strong leadership and steady management that Iowa averted a potential disaster and refuted the overreaction of budget crisis.
