Everyone knows the water companies' routine when we call and question our water bill. Every home and business develops a water leak as the water bill is put in our mail box. When we call and question our water bill, the water company already knows we have a leak. It happened to me.

My December and January bill was each $29.22 and I used three units of water for each month. The only difference was my wife was only home for six days of the January bill and then left to visit a relative in Florida during the rest of the bill.

I called the water company about the January bill. Yes, I developed the water leak. The extra water my wife would use magically went through the water meter. When I told the woman on the phone it was impossible to use that water when I'm alone, she insisted one of their employees check our water meter. Naturally the meter will pass inspection.

I told her I played that game last June with one of my duplexes that has one meter for both apartments. One of the apartments was vacant for two weeks out of the month and the water bill was high.

For those of us that have played these games with the water company, We need to communicate by writing to opinions. Then we need to call the water company and our state representatives in Washington.
