Power restoration is expected soon to a swath of northern Scott County, which lost electrical power at 6 a.m. Monday.

The communities of Long Grove, Park View and areas north of Eldridge were affected, according to Brad Pursell, of Eastern Iowa Rural Electric Cooperative, Wilton, Iowa. The REC is the power provider in that part of the Scott County.

Pursell said underground power lines went out, for reasons that are unknown. The area was affected at 6 a.m. and by 8 a.m., Pursell said the power was just about restored.
