Gun club receives volunteer award: The West Liberty Gun Club received a Governor’s Volunteer Award for its support of hunter education and shooting sports in Iowa. The club regularly makes its facility available to various area law enforcement agencies for training purposes, as well as to hunting clubs for educational purposes. The facility was destroyed by fire in January. Tom Campbell, state conservation officer for the Iowa DNR in Muscatine County, nominated the gun club for the award.
