A Davenport man held a knife to his mother's throat and threatened four firefighters who were responding to an emergency call at his home this week, police said.

Roger J. Golden, 30, of 1125 Gaines St., was arrested Thursday afternoon on four Class D felony counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and an aggravated misdemeanor count of domestic assault. He was in the Scott County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Police and firefighters responded to an emergency call at his home about 5:14 p.m. Monday.

Golden lunged at four firefighters with a knife, forcing them off his front porch and into his yard, according to an arrest affidavit.

Golden lives with his mother and prevented her from entering the home by pulling a knife on her, the affidavit states. He then grabbed her in a choke hold and held a knife to her throat, the document states. She wasn't injured.

Golden also threatened his live-in girlfriend with a knife by pointing it at her when she was standing a foot away, the affidavit states. She refused an order of protection.

When officers tried to arrest Golden, he assaulted a uniformed Davenport police officer by kicking him three times and trying to bite him on his right forearm, the affidavit states.
