Through the years the Quad-City class A minor league baseball team which plays at now Modern Woodmen Park has gone by many names — Braves, Angels, Cubs and River Bandits. From 2004-2007 the team was called the Swing of the Quad-Cities.
On Oct. 20, 2003, the team was named the Swing of the Quad Cities after a "name the team" contest was held. That name stuck until 2007 when they went back to the River Bandits.
