QUAD-CITIES 9, BURLINGTON 4

QUICK ANSWER: Roberto Espinoza and Alex Castellanos allowed the River Bandits to answer quickly after Burlington grabbed a 4-2 lead in the top of the sixth inning. Espinoza cleared the loaded bases with a double off the wall in left-center, and Castellanos, activated Tuesday after missing 13 games with a hand injury, belted a three-run homer as Quad-Cities opened an 8-4 lead.

QUOTEBOOK: "I was tired of sitting on the bench. That was driving me crazy. All I wanted to do was take each at-bat one at a time and not try to do too much.'' - Castellanos following his 2-for-4 game.

SIXTH-INNING STING: The Bees knocked Quad-Cities starter Brett Zawacki out of the game in the sixth inning when Burlington strung together five straight hits.

WALL BALL: The River Bandits scored first, using a two-run homer by Osvaldo Morales to move ahead in the bottom of the fourth. Morales' fourth homer in six games and his team-leading 10th of the season cleared the fence in center.

MOVES: Quad-Cities made a flurry of roster moves. Before the game, Castellanos was activated from the disabled list, and infielder Guillermo Toribio was reassigned to short-season Batavia. After the game, infielder Brett Lilley and outfielder Paul Cruz were released, and pitcher Andres Rosales was reassigned to Batavia. Third baseman Matt Carpenter, a 13th-round pick from TCU currently hitting .484 at Batavia and outfielder Kyle Conley, a seventh-round pick from Washington, will join Quad-Cities.

Pitcher Nick McCully, ninth-round pick from Coastal Carolina, is with the Bandits but has not been activated.
