BURLINGTON, Iowa — The Quad-Cities River Bandits put it all together Monday night to open a three-game series in Burlington.
The Bandits erupted for 15 runs on 16 hits, including five home runs, and three Q-C pitchers combined to allow four hits in a 15-1 rout of the Bees at Community Field.
Alexander De Goti was 4-for-4 including a pair of solo home runs and a triple to raise his average to .351 on the season, while Rodrigo Ayarza hit a two-run shot in the seventh for his third home run in two games for the Bandits.
Jake Rogers homered in the third and Randy Cesar put an exclamation point on the win with a grand slam in the top of the ninth inning for Quad-Cities (5-6).
Twelve of the Bandits' 16 hits Monday went for extra bases, including five doubles and two triples. Ronnie Dawson had the other triple and finished with three hits and a pair of RBIs. Rogers also had three hits to go with two RBIs and two runs scored.
On the mound, Jorge Alcala (1-0) allowed just one hit and worked around five walks in five innings to earn his first win. Enoli Paredes pitched three solid innings of relief, working around a solo home run by Roberto Baldoquin, and Abdiel Saldana pitched a clean ninth.
Nate Bertness took the loss for Burlington, allowing six runs, two earned, on six hits in three innings.
