BELOIT, Wisc. — The Quad-Cities River Bandits are back in the playoffs.

Chaz McCormick had three hits and an RBI to lead the way while Robert Corniel earned the playoff-clinching win with three scoreless innings of relief in a 5-2 win over the Beloit Snappers at Pohlman Field.

Quad-Cities got on the board first in the third inning when Josh Rojas hit a two-run single. Ray Henderson added to the lead in the fourth inning with an RBI single and Daz Cameron's RBI double in the seventh inning put the Bandits up 4-0.

Beloit cut into the deficit in the seventh inning when Jason Goldstein drew a bases-loaded walk and J.C. Rodriguez hit a sacrifice fly, but the River Bandits tacked on another run in the eighth when McCormick hit an RBI double, scoring Wander Franco.

Seth Martinez took the loss for Beloit, pitching six innings.

The Bandits dropped their magic number to clinch the Western Division to two and have a chance to clinch the title tonight against the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Modern Woodmen Park.

Clinton 7, Burlington 5: Gareth Morgan hit a bases-clearing triple in the ninth inning, part of a five-run rally that led the Clinton LumberKings to a win over the Burlington Bees.

Burlington had a runner on second in the bottom of the ninth, but Richard Fecteau flew out to end the game.

Trailing 5-2 in the ninth inning, Louis Boyd started the rally with a lead-off double. After Billy Cook drew a walk, Johnny Slater singled to load the bases.

Yojhan Quevedo hit a one-out single to drive in a run, then Morgan hit a two-out triple to give Clinton the lead.

Joe Rizzo followed that up with an RBI double.

Seth Elledge (3-0) got the win with two innings of scoreless, one-hit relief while Connor Riley (0-1).
