Quad-Cities 4, Beloit 1: Abraham Toro-Hernandez hit his eighth home run of the season, Salvador Montano pitched 3⅓ innings of one-hit ball and the Quad-Cities River Bandits enjoyed a win over the Beloit Snappers Tuesday at Pohlman Field.
Trailing 1-0, Josh Rojas tied the game for the Bandits with an RBI single in the fourth inning. Quad-Cities took the lead for good in the seventh inning, with Rojas scoring on a passed ball then Kristian Trompiz scoring a run on an RBI single by Wander Franco.
Toro-Hernandez's home run in the eighth inning provided insurance the team didn't need as Montano struck out four in the final two innings, earning the win after Carlos Sanabria pitched into the sixth.
Beloit scored one unearned run in the second inning.
Clinton 7, Burlington 2: Billy Cooke's two-run single in the sixth inning put Clinton ahead and on the path to a win over Burlington Tuesday at Community Field.
After Cooke's single, the LumberKings added three runs in the seventh inning, starting with Nick Thurman drawing a bases-loaded walk. Then Louis Boyd hit an RBI single, scoring Gareth Morgan, followed by Jhombeyker Morales scoring on a wild pitch.
Ljay Newsome (8-8) got the win, allowing a two-run home run to Richard Fecteau in the first inning but settling down to allow five hits and strike out six.
Jeffeson Medina pitched three innings of no-hit ball in relief.
