CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- Aaron Whitefield drove in five runs, while Travis Blankenhorn and Christian Cavaness drove in three apiece as the Cedar Rapids Kernels beat the Clinton LumberKings 16-3 on Sunday.

Whitefield homered and doubled, driving home five runs and scoring a couple. Blankenhorn homered and singled three times, driving in three runs and scoring a pair.

Cedar Rapids had a pair of big innings in the blowout victory, scoring nine runs in the first inning and four in the eighth.

In the first, Blankenhorn hit a two-run home run, while Ben Rortvedt hit a two-run home run in the eighth.

Alex Robinson (2-5) got the win with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief while Clinton starter Danny Garcia (5-5) took the loss in the Midwest League game.
