Iowa basketball players and coaches will pay tribute to the memory and spirit of Chris Street at Saturday’s 7 p.m. home game against Big Ten leader Wisconsin.

Taking the court 20 years to the day after Street was killed in an automobile accident in Iowa City, Hawkeyes players will wear black patches with “CMS 40” in gold lettering and coaches will wear pins honoring Street when Iowa hosts the Badgers.

The Hawkeyes will also wear shooting shirts during pre-game warm-ups that were provided by the Street family to memorialize the 20th anniversary of the Hawkeye forward’s death.

A ceremony is planned for halftime, when past recipients of the Chris Street Award, presented annually to the Hawkeye player or players who best exemplify the spirit, enthusiasm and intensity of the Iowa forward will recognized. At least 11 of the award’s 20 recipients are expected to attend.
