-- Iowa enters the Big Ten opener ranked among the top five teams in the nation in several statistical categories, including scoring (fifth), scoring margin (third), assists per game (fourth) and field goal percentage defense (fourth).

-- Nebraska is coming off a 74-59 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday in which it shot just 35.7 percent from the field. The Cornhuskers have added several new faces since last season and one of those players, Texas Tech transfer Terran Petteway, had 22 points against the Bearcats and leads the team in scoring. Other newcomers include freshman point guard Tai Webster, center Walter Pitchford and 255-pound junior college transfer Leslee Smith, who leads the team in rebounding.

-- Tonight's game is a sellout, the fourth in the past five games for the Hawkeyes. It will be the only meeting of the season between the Hawkeyes and Cornhuskers. They have split in four meetings over the past two seasons, since Nebraska became a member of the Big Ten. Iowa leads the all-time series 14-9.
