STORYLINES

• Iowa scored 57 points after halftime — its best second half in a Big Ten game since 1990 — en route to a 94-80 victory over Minnesota on Tuesday night. Jordan Bohannon collected 20 points and 10 assists to lead six Iowa players in double figures. He also extended his streak of consecutive free throws made to 30, just four short of the school record.

• Penn State lost to Michigan State 76-68 on Wednesday despite 28 points by Tony Carr, who used the performance to edge into the Big Ten scoring lead. Carr, who also is fifth in the league in assists, leads a team in which all five starters average in double figures. Center Mike Watkins is second in the conference in both rebounding and blocked shots.

• The Nittany Lions won an earlier meeting with the Hawkeyes 77-73 on Dec. 2 in Iowa City. Lamar Stevens scored 22 points with Watkins adding 19 and Carr 16. They did not get any points from their bench in the game and have only one reserve averaging more than 3 points per game.
