The St. Ambrose women's basketball team fell to a hot-shooting Clarke team 79-66 Tuesday in Dubuque.
The Pride shot 52.6 percent from the field, 65.5 percent in the first half to take a 51-29 halftime lead.
The Queen Bees outscored the Pride 37-28 in the second half but couldn't get out of the hole dug in the first half.
Reeann McCarty led the Queen Bees (1-2) with 17 points while Madi Epperson added 12 points. The Queen Bees had had three players with seven rebounds in Charlotte Flynn, Mercedes Jackson and Joni Lafary.
Clarke had five players in double figures, led by Kea Whittington, who had 18 points. Makenna Haase had 13 points and 10 rebounds for the Pride (3-0).
