Galesburg’s George Carter will try to remain unbeaten in his pro boxing career and Felika Correa will be fighting for a title on a card Saturday night at Danceland Ballroom in Davenport.

Carter, 10-0 as a middleweight, will step up to a higher weight class to take on Skyler Thompson, a super middleweight from Rockford. Thompson began his pro career with 11 straight wins but then lost seven in a row and is now 12-8.

The 43-year-old Correa, a major figure on the local scene in the 1990s, launched a comeback last spring after not fighting for 14 years. He has won two bouts since and will face Moline’s Jason Medina for the CBA Latino Super Middleweight title. Medina, 45, is 3-12 while Correa’s career mark is 17-6.

The show, scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., also will include the pro debut of 18-year-old Davenport lightweight David Levi Jr., a middleweight bout involving Rock Island’s unbeaten Limberth Ponce and the third pro appearance by Davenport heavyweight Eric Cason.
