Bettendorf High School will host a Pat Angerer Recognition Night on Jan. 22 in conjunction with the Bulldogs' boys basketball game against Muscatine.

Angerer, who helped Bettendorf win the state football title in 2004, recently completed his football career at Iowa with the Hawkeyes' 24-14 victory over Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

Angerer led the Hawkeyes in tackles each of the past two years and was second in the Big Ten this season. He earned first-team all-Big Ten honors, made some all-American teams and was a finalist for the Nagurski Award.

In addition to Angerer, Iowa defensive coordinator Norm Parker also is expected to appear and speak at the event.
