The Iowa football program gained a verbal commitment Monday from one of the nation's top-ranked offensive linemen.
Jordan Walsh, a 280-pound senior at Glenbard West High School in the western suburbs of Chicago, chose the Hawkeyes over a group of suitors that included eight other Big Ten schools.
Walsh is rated the No. 2 guard prospect in the nation by Scout.com. Rivals.com rates him No. 6 among guard prospects - previous Iowa recruit Austin Blythe is No. 5 - and the 157th best player in the country at any position.
The Hawkeyes have 13 players committed for next season.
