The contenders and pretenders continued to separate themselves over the weekend, leading to a multitude of changes on my ballot for this week's Associated Press college football poll.
Alabama and Georgia still hold down the top spots, but three losses by top-10 teams and six losses by teams I had rated between 13th and 25th last week and have led to shake up at the top and bottom of my ballot.
With Wisconsin moving up one to third and Miami moving two spots into fourth, the top four teams on my ballot this week are all unbeaten, moves facilitated in part by Ohio State's lackluster performance at Iowa and Penn State's stumble at Michigan State.
Behind the four unbeaten teams, I moved Notre Dame into fifth followed by Washington, Clemson, Oklahoma, TCU and the Buckeyes.
I moved Michigan State, which visits Ohio State next weekend, into 11th and dropped Penn State from fifth to 13th.
Iowa State's loss at West Virginia moved the Cyclones from 14th to 23rd on my ballot this week, right behind two teams ISU has lost close games against this season, West Virginia and Iowa.
The Mountaineers and Hawkeyes, both 6-3, are among four newcomers on my ballot this week.
South Florida returns at 24 and Toledo, an 8-1 team which leads the West Division of the Mid-American Conference and has lost only to Miami (Fla.) this season, fill the final two spots.
All four teams I bumped this week suffered losses over the weekend and were rated between 19th and 24th last on my ballot last week, positioning each to exit this time around.
Stanford, Arizona, North Carolina State and LSU, all 6-3, get the hook for this week.
They joined these other teams who were on my radar this time around, Army, Michigan, San Diego State and Virginia.
Here is my ballot for this week's AP poll, which is scheduled to be released around 1 pm:
4. Miami (Fla.)
