APTOPIX Big Ten Championship Football

Ohio State coach Urban Meyer holds the trophy after Ohio State defeated Wisconsin 27-21 in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday night in Indianapolis.

Results from Saturday's conference championship games - really the unnamed first round of the college football playoffs - led to a shuffle at the top of my ballot for this week's Associated Press poll.

Clemson looked the part of the No. 1 team in its rout over Miami on Saturday night and they'll stay at the top of my top 25 this time around.

Oklahoma was equally impressive in its pounding of TCU in a game that may christen Baker Mayfield as the Heisman winner.

Inconsistent offensive performance, something Wisconsin has been dealing with throughout much of the season, came back to bite the Badgers in the Big Ten finale against Ohio State.

I'm moving the Buckeyes into the third spot on my ballot, up two positions from a week ago, and Georgia climbs two as well into fourth after its win over Auburn.

The top four teams are deserving of berths in the playoff field. They've played their best when it mattered most.

I have Wisconsin in fifth followed by Auburn, Alabama, Penn State, UCF and USC in my top 10.

Miami and TCU both drop five spots from ninth and 13th respectively following losses on Saturday.

Michigan State is at 17th and Northwestern is at 20th on my ballot.

On the back end, I bumped Toledo up to 23rd following its win over Akron in the MAC title game and Boise State enters this week at 25 after its win in the Mountain West title game.
