Big Ten defensive back of the year Micah Hyde was charged with disorderly conduct early Sunday morning, the Iowa senior’s second brush with Iowa City police in a little over two months.

Police ticketed Hyde and another individual, Jazmine Ashley Constantino, after they responded to a call of a loud party on the top floor of an Iowa City apartment house at 2:40 a.m. Sunday.

The complaint stated that once police arrived on the scene at 614 S. Johnson Street, the location of the incident “will be obvious.’’

A police report indicated that initial knocks on the apartment door went unanswered. Hyde and Constantino live in separate apartments in the building. Constantino was given a disorderly house citation, while Hyde was charged with disorderly conduct and given a Jan. 24 court date.

Disorderly conduct is a simple misdemeanor under Iowa law, punishable by a fine of up to $625 and up to 30 days in jail.

Hyde already faces a Dec. 27 date in Johnson County District Court following his arrest in the early morning hours of Oct. 6 on charges of public intoxication and interference with official acts after he led police on a foot chase after leaving the scene following a dispute with operators of an Iowa City bar.

Following that situation, Hyde pled guilty to the interference charge and was assessed $397.50 in fines and surcharges. He entered a not-guilty plea on the public intoxication charge, which led to the Dec. 27 court date.

Hyde earned all-Big Ten honors the past two seasons for Iowa, selected to the first-team this season.

The Fostoria, Ohio, native started 38 games at cornerback for the Hawkeyes over the past three seasons and finished his collegiate career last month with 240 tackles, eight interceptions, four forced and three recovered fumbles and two of the 12-longest interception returns in Iowa history.

Disorderly conduct. Far from a major crime, in any case maybe I can stop hearing about the fb games in the future. It's college football, who gives flying punt. Give it a rest.

Many of the players get injured, while many more get arrested or leave the team. The remaining players just seem to not be very good. The Iowa Football Program has really gone down the toilet.
