Connor Kornbrath, a 6-foot-6 punter from Bridgeport, W.Va., is the latest high school football player to make a verbal commitment to Iowa.

The fifth player to become part of the Hawkeyes' 2012 recruiting class, Kornbrath accepted a scholarship offer from Iowa after attending a one-day camp in Iowa City earlier this month.

An all-state kicker who connected on field goals of 51 and 47 yards last season while hitting 7-of-12 attempts, Kornbrath won both the kicking and punting competition at the Eastern Showcase earlier this spring and caught the attention of Iowa coaches after excelling at a camp run by former Iowa State kicker Jamie Kohl in May.
