Iowa running back Akrum Wadley fielded punts but was not tackled Friday night.


Iowa running back Akrum Wadley and Iowa State quarterback Jacob Park were among college football players named Monday to the watch list for the 2017 Maxwell Award, presented to the game's top player.

A senior from Newark, New Jersey, Wadley led the Hawkeyes a year ago with 1,396 yards of total offense while earning third-team all-Big Ten honors. He rushed for 10 touchdowns and caught three touchdown passes.

Park, a junior, threw for 1,791 yards and 12 touchdowns while completing 58.8 percent of his passes last season for the Cyclones.

Also, Iowa linebacker Josey Jewell was named Monday to the watch list for the 2017 Bednarik Award, presented annually to the top defensive player in college football.

A senior from Decorah, Iowa, Jewell led the Hawkeyes with 124 tackles last season while earning second-team all-Big Ten honors as a finalist for the Butkus Award.
