Augustana 86, North Central 79: Augustana withstood a fourth-quarter rally Wednesday to hold onto its share of first place in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin with an 86-79 women's basketball win at North Central.
The Vikings (11-3, 4-1 CCIW) led 75-55 when Corrie Reiley hit a 3-pointer with 7 minutes, 48 seconds remaining in the game, before the Cardinals rallied.
North Central pulled within 77-74 on a three-pointer by Michaela Reedy with 2:39 left before Augustana regained control, using a three-point play by Kaycee Kallenberger with 1:14 to go to move in front 82-74.
Reiley led the Vikings with 16 points, while Kallenberger finished with 14 points, 18 rebounds and blocked seven shots. Shannon Ryan led the Cardinals (9-6, 3-3) with 18 points.
St. Xavier 113, St. Ambrose 50: Third-ranked St. Xavier outscored the Queen Bees 37-5 in the first quarter and 38-12 in the third quarter to earn a blowout CCAC victory on Wednesday in Chicago.
Reean McCarty scored nine points to lead the Bees (6-11, 2-7 CCAC), shot 5 for 28 from the field in the first half and 22.8 percent overall for the game.
Kara Krolicki scored 29 points to lead all scorers for St. Xavier (16-1, 8-1).
St. Xavier 103, St. Ambrose 70: St. Xavier shot 60.5 percent from the field in the first half to build a big lead and stayed hot in the second half to pick up a home CCAC victory over the Fighting Bees.
St. Xavier (10-9, 6-5 CCAC) shot 58.6 percent while limiting SAU (6-11, 4-6) to 34.3 percent shooting. Eric Dust led the way for the Bees with 15 points and seven rebounds.
