The men’s bowling team from St. Ambrose rolled to a fifth-place finish last weekend in its first appearance in the USBC Intercollegiate Team Championships in Lincoln, Neb.

Led by all-tournament selection Kyle Anderson, a freshman from Lockport, Ill., the Fighting Bees entered the tourney ranked 15th but earned the ninth seed in the 16-team field after 24 baker-style games.

Following a win over Notre Dame-Ohio, St. Ambrose fell into the consolation bracket with a loss to Wichita State. The Bees defeated Calumet-St. Joseph’s and third-ranked Morehead State before falling to Robert Morris to finish fifth.
