The St. Ambrose athletic department is back on top of the Midwest Collegiate Conference for the first time since 2009.

St. Ambrose has won the league's Commissioner's Cup trophy for the 2013-14 athletic season, which honors all-around athletic excellence among the MCC's seven member schools.

The Bees accumulated 920 points to dethrone Grand View, which has won the past four Cups. Points are awarded at the end of the regular season in all 17 championship sports the league offers, with bonus points for conference tournament winners.

The Bees' performance was buoyed by six conference championships: women's cross country, women's soccer, men's and women's basketball and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.

Grand View finished second in the Commissioner's Cup rankings with 870 points, followed by Mount Mercy (660), William Penn (590), Clarke (565), Viterbo (495) and AIB (290).
