IOWA CITY - It's not the system, it's the execution that has led the Iowa football team to three straight losses.

"Everybody has a hand in it," coach Kirk Ferentz said today. "... One thing impacts another. We just have to get more in sync.  We've had times when offense has done well, moved the ball. Consistency has been an issue."

Improving that is part of the plan this week as the Hawkeyes prepare for Saturday's 11 a.m. game with Purdue.

Iowa will likely again be without running back Mark Weisman and fullback Brad Rogers this week. Ferentz said both are working toward a return, but he said he is "not overly optimistic" that either will ready for the Boilermakers, who have lost their last five games.
