MICK ELLIS: Joins Nate Kaeding, Kyle Schlicher and Trent Mossbrucker as the fourth kicker Iowa has signed to a scholarship during Kirk Ferentz’s 16 seasons. … Connected on 23 field goals and 97 extra points over the last two seasons for Lovejoy High School, where he earned all-district honors as a punter and kicker as a senior. … Was a second-team all-state selection as a junior at Lovejoy High School, where he connected on 13-of-17 field goals including kicks of 53, 52 and 49 yards. … He had 34 touchbacks during his junior season. … Selected Iowa over an opportunity to compete for Yale. … His high school coach was Matt Green.
DILLON KIDD: Is already on campus as the lone junior-college recruit in the Hawkeyes’ class this season. … Began his college career at Florida State after graduating from North Broward Prep, spending two years as a walk-on with the Seminoles before transferring to El Camino CC last fall. … He averaged 38.2 yards on 50 punts last season for the California junior college, including a long of 58 yards. … Kidd also placed 18 punts inside the 20-yard line. … Is the son of John Kidd, a former Northwestern punter who spent 16 seasons in the NFL as a punter for the Bills, Chargers, Dolphins and Jets. … His brother, Garrett, is a wide receiver at Miami (Fla.). … Was coached at El Camino by John Featherstone.
