Incoming Iowa freshman running back Greg Garmon is telling the world that he is headed for Iowa City.

Garmon announced on his Facebook page over the weekend that he was packing his bags for Iowa and the start of his college football career, writing, “goodbye Erie. no looking back now. It’s time to get ready for the future. ... hawkeye nation black & gold.”

The highly recruited running back’s arrival was delayed following his June arrest in his hometown of Erie, Pa., on possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia charges. Coach Kirk Ferentz has declined comment on the situation until after a scheduled July 18 hearing.

A drug charge before he's even on campus. Great start.
