Alleman High School will enshrine golfer Peter Callas, girls basketball player A.J. Ledbetter, longtime coach Mike Ebner and its Class A 1998 state champion softball team into its Hall of Fame on Friday.
The inductees will be introduced at halftime of the varsity boys basketball game between Alleman and Quincy at the Don Morris Gym. The official induction ceremony will take place after the game in the school cafeteria.
Callas was a 2008 Class 2A All-Stater and holds school records for 9 holes (32), 18 holes (68) and lowest season scoring average. He was also a four-year letter winner at Brown University.
Ebner was an assistant coach for 25 years in both football and girls basketball and 25 seasons as either the assistant or head coach in softball. In 2014, when he was the head coach, the Pioneers won the Class 2A state title.
Ledbetter was a four-year letterwinner, who made all-state first team on three different teams in 2010, including the Associated Press. Her 1,363 career points are second all-time at Alleman; her 457 free throws made are No. 1 at Alleman.
The 1998 softball champs won not only the Class A state title but the Western Big Six, regional and sectional championships as well while carving a 34-4 record under Coach Jay Hatch.
