Moline doubles team moves on: Samantha Tonn and Jenna Jackson won its first two matches Thursday at the Illinois state meet.

Tonn and Jackson took the first match 7-6 (3), 1-6, 7-5 over Jen Alter and Dana Thornquist of Downers Grove South, then beat Brittany Funk and Lindsey Sebade of Normal West 6-2, 6-7 (5-7), 6-2 in Round 2. The Maroons face Meg Crowley and Alli Linden of Barrington in the third round at Barrington.

The Alleman doubles team of Andi Mills and Allie DeRoo lost their first match 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 to a team from Elmhurst.

In singles play, Jessica Garlach lost her first-round match in two sets to Barrington's Zoe Kasuriak.
