Rock Island's Chasson Randle wasn't planning on getting much sleep Saturday night.
Who could blame him.
Randle and his U.S. teammates are playing for the gold medal at the U16 FIBA Americas Championship in Argentina.
The U.S. advanced to the gold medal game after thumping Canada 126-78 on Saturday.
"It's going to be awesome," Randle said in a phone interview of playing for the gold. "The atmosphere is going to be great. I'm really pumped right now."
The United States will play host Argentina, which defeated Venezuela, this afternoon.
"We got one more to go, and hopefully we will have the gold around our neck."
Randle, who has averaged almost eight points a game during the tourney, scored seven Saturday.
He was 3-for-6 shooting with one rebound and one assist in almost 16 minutes of action.
