1. Annawan (6-0)

Ranked No. 2 in initial Class 1A Associated Press poll, the Braves are led by all-state returnee Owen Landwehr, a point guard who had 12 points and seven rebounds in a 48-27 win Tuesday over Orion. Ben Buresh had 15 points, seven rebounds and three steals in that win.

2. Camanche (3-1)

The backcourt of Cameron Soenksen and Dev Patel is combining for 39.3 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists per game. Camanche is shooting 41 percent from the arc and averaging almost 12 made 3s per game. The Indians play six of their next seven games on the road.

3. Northeast (4-0)

The Rebels have opened season with three double-digit victories in their first four games. Dawson Stoll has stepped in and provided a deep threat for Northeast (13 of 25 from 3-point line). Braeden Hoyer and Luke Empen give Rebels a nice 1-2 punch on the inside.

4. Mercer County (6-1)

Thanks to a 13-2 surge in the fourth quarter, the Golden Eagles knocked off Rockridge 49-37 last Friday. Rashaun King poured in 15 points and Jordan Metcalf had eight of his 12 points in the final period. Mercer County's lone loss was to Monmouth-Roseville.

5. Wapello (2-0)

The Indians had four players in double figures and outscored Louisa-Muscatine 19-4 in the opening quarter of Tuesday's 61-40 win. Trenton Massner is averaging 16 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5 assists per game while Keaton Mitchell has scored 29 points in two games.
