1. Rock Island (17-1, Last week: 1)

Rocks had a big week, beating Davenport North in IHMVCU Shootout 65-54 after shutting out Galesburg into the second quarter Thursday in 69-30 rout. Brea Beal led way with 32 points vs. North and 22 vs. Streaks, the latter in less than three quarters.

Up next: Host Moline Thursday. At DeKalb for MLK Tourney Saturday,Monday.

2. Davenport North (8-2, LW: 2)

Jinaya Houston has averaged 23 points and 8.3 rebounds in the last three games. North limited North Scott to 36 points and 26.7 percent shooting, its best defensive performance against a team with a winning record.

3. Pleasant Valley (10-2, LW: 3)

Ellie and Carli Spelhaug each have tallied double figures in the past five games for the Spartans, who are in a three-way tie for the MAC lead at the halfway point. PV has won nine of its 10 games by double figures.

4. Bettendorf (9-2, LW: 4)

The Bulldogs have won four in a row, their longest streak in three years. Bettendorf, which has held three straight opponents below 45 points, exceeded its win total from last season with Tuesday's victory against Assumption.

5. North Scott (8-4, LW: not ranked)

The Lancers, who play four of their next five games at home, are coming off a season-low point total and their most lopsided loss of the season. North Scott's Karli and Rylie Rucker are each among MAC's top 10 in assists and steals.
