Fulton 34, Ottawa Marquette 16: Austin Schroeder scored on runs of 2 and 6 yards and caught a 15-yard touchdown pass from Bryce Grant as Fulton advanced through the first round.
Andrew Knudsen sealed the win by returning an interception for a touchdown with 2 minutes, 21 seconds remaining.
The Steamers (7-3) will play at home in the second round next Saturday against Forreston (9-1).
Annawan-Wethersfield 31, Orangeville 14: Freshman quarterback Coltin Quagliano compiled 243 yards in total offense and had a hand in scoring four touchdowns for the victorious Titans.
Quagliano connected on 11 of 12 passes for 166 yards and three touchdowns and added 10 carries for 77 yards and a TD on the ground. Ben Buresh caught four passes for 106 yards and two scores.
A-W (9-1) will play on the road in the second round at Princeville (9-2), which defeated Dakota in overtime Saturday.
Orion 40, Rockford Christian 0: The game plan for the Orion football team was simple. The Chargers had to defeat Rockford Christian in a Class 2A opening round playoff matchup. The weather conditions, windy with a temperature just above freezing, were not going to take Orion down either.
The Chargers put their toughness on full display, defeating the elements and Rockford Christian 40-0 to advance to next week’s contest against Clifton.
Defensively, Orion held the Lions to negative-9 rushing yards. Offensively, the Chargers rolled up more than 350 yards on the ground behind the brothers Sam and Seth West.
West Carroll 40, Minonk Fieldcrest 0: Twins Kaleb and Kody Plattenberger combined to score three touchdowns as West Carroll claimed its first postseason victory since 2007.
The Thunder (7-3), which led 16-0 at halftime, will host unbeaten Gibson City-Sibley-Melvin next Saturday.
Clifton Central 43, Mercer County 22: Killin Krumwiede ran for four touchdowns at Clifton Central (8-2), which rallied from a 22-18 deficit to win.
It plays at Orion next Saturday.
Mercer County (5-5) got two of its touchdowns on passes from Rashaun King to his brother Quentin.
Morris 50, Kewanee 20: Morris bolted to a 50-0 halftime lead en route to an easy victory.
Kewanee (6-4) finally got on the board in the second half as Lewis Robinson scored on runs of 6 and 65 yards.
